Laundry detergents that are manufactured industrially in large quantities and that contain unnecessarily too many irritating cheMicals are perhaps an easier solution in the short term. However, if you take into account their environmental impact, the economic aspect, and if you have someone in your family with sensitive skin or even allergies, then your choice should be quite clear.Let us return to the wise and time-honoured methods. You don't really need much to make homemade laundry gel - most of it is readily available at home, and you can buy a bar of soap and a packet of washing soda from us. these ingredients yield an incredible 10 litres of washing gel!
What we'll need:
- one cube of kernel soap (200 g)
- 300 g washing soda powder
- 10 l boiling Water
- essential oil with your favourite Fragrance
- grater
- cooking pot
- a plastic container with a capacity of more than 10 l for storing the gel
Procedure:
Finely grate the soap into a sufficiently large plastic container or large washing pot and pour boiling Water over it. First, a small amount of Water is enough, that is, about one to two litres. Slowly stir in the soap shavings and wait until they are completely dissolved.
Then add the soda and stir again until the two ingredients are completely dissolved and mixed, gradually adding the remaining boiling Water. Slowly stir the gel. As it gradually cools, it thickens. At this point we can add a few drops of essential oil (about 20 drops). Let stand until the next day.
When completely cooled, the resulting mixture takes on the consistency of thick jelly. And now we can do laundry! The washing gel is dispensed, for example, using a measuring cup from a conventional washing powder. Use approximately 1.5 scoops for one full washing machine.
