Agates are distinguished by their colourfulness, but this species attracts attention with its blue hues. Cold solutions are used to dye the stones blue, in which they are soaked for several weeks. Of course, the striations so typical of agates are not missing. The raw material comes from Brazil. In terms of chemical composition, blue agate is a variety of chalcedony, which is the general name for fibrous cryptocrystalline quartz.
