Another in a series of rare agates, this time originally from Botswana. These are collector's pieces, as the government banned the export of unworked raw agates after Botswana declared independence and the embargo continues to this day. Botswana agates are distinguished by their distinctive striations. The sharp contrast between the white and dark stripes is often complemented by a red centre (coloured by iron oxides), which adds even more dynamism to the overall appearance.
