A mineral popular for its blue tones, which range from dark blue, to light blue, to blue-green. In other words, true seawater, as aquamarine is also called from the Latin aqua marina. The raw material is mined in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
In terms of its composition, it is a precious variety of beryl.
