Aluminium foil is aluminum modified into metal wafers with a thickness of 6-200 microns. In households used foil with a thickness of about 15 microns. Czech designation was created by combining the words Al (cheMical symbol for aluminum) and packaging.
Features:
Aluminium foil is very malleable and easy to shape around the objects. However, it is also very fragile and prone to damage. For this reason, for most applications is laminated to other materials, mostly plastics or paper (e.g. for butter and cheeses is typical of the pack). In the mid-20th century, replacing the previously used aluminum foil tinfoil. Unlike e.g. of paper, aluminum foil retains its shape and can be used as its opacity, airtightness, higher thermal conductivity and its insulating properties.
Use aluminum foil:
Annual production of aluminum foil reached in 2003 in Europe and 880 thousand tons in the United States about 660,000 tun.Přibližně 75% of production is used as packaging material for food, cosmetics and cheMicals. The remaining quarter is applied in industry (eg. Heat insulation, cables and electronics). Produced as a foil role for household use - they then are used in baking or for packing food with a tendency to dismiss grease. Aluminum foil is used as a packaging material is mostly made of aluminum downcyklovaného, e.g. of beverage cartons etc. It is also used for the preparation of Water pipes. Aluminum foil is a non-magnetic material.
