Citrine and amethyst in one.

In ametrine, the yellow and purple shades of the mentioned two stones intertwine and transform into impressive geometric patterns. There is only one mine in the world that provides raw material in all price categories. This is a relatively "young" precious stone, appearing on the market only since 1980. The raw material comes from Bolivia.

From a compositional perspective, it is a rare colored variety of crystalline quartz.

The crystal is VERY rare: the main natural source of rough ametrine in the world is located in the remote Anahi mine in Bolivia.

For this reason, ametrine is sometimes referred to as bolivianite (although it is also known as trystine).
