Argan oil is extracted from the kernels of the fruit of a tree known as the argan tree. These trees are found only in the southwestern part of Morocco; they have not yet been successfully cultivated anywhere else in the world. The tree can live up to 200 years, but it starts to bear fruit only after 15 years. This significantly impacts the production of argan oil and increases its price.
