Tulsi, označovaná jako královna bylin, pochází z Indie a je jednou z nejposvátnějších a nejoblíbenějších bylin mezi léčivými bylinami Orientu. Název Tulsí v sanskrtu znamená „ten, jemuž se nikdo nevyrovná”. Všechny části rostliny mají významné symbolické vlastnosti. Tulsi má bohatou, sladkou chuť.
