Before applying yarrow ointment, we recommend washing the skin with soap-free water and drying it well. The ointment is applied in a thin layer - so that it does not clog the pores. Apply yarrow ointment 2-3 times a day or as needed. Rub it gently into the skin for 2 to 3 minutes. Proper application of the ointment helps to increase its after-effects.
Yarrow ointment is very good at tightening, cleaning, regenerating and softening the skin. Therefore, the ointment is excellent for the care of cracked skin, e.g. deeply cracked heels or hands. Thanks to the active substances of yarrow, the ointment is widely used in the care of various non-healing wounds or insect bites. Yarrow ointment is excellent for external care of the anal area (e.g. for non-bleeding or incipient hemorrhoids).

The herbal base of yarrow ointment is yarrow (Achillea millefolium). The Latin name of the plant is derived from the mythical Greek hero Achillea, as this herb was said to have been used to heal wounds during the Trojan Wars. Yarrow flowers from June to October, and its flowers, leaves and stems are used in herbalism.
The active substances contained in yarrow include essential oils, isovaleric acid, salicylic acid, asparagine, sterols, flavonoids, tannins, coumarins, bitter substances and tannins. Yarrow is characterised by its anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to promote wound healing.
The ointment base consists of uncured purified lard, which is extracted with hot steam. It has excellent lubricating properties, its composition resembles human fat and it is a good carrier of the medicinal substances contained in herbs. For these reasons, purified lard is still the ideal base for ointments, although some companies now prefer synthetic bases.
Yarrow ointment is enriched with genuine beeswax, which has excellent protective and moisturising properties and enhances the overall quality of the ointment.
