Rainbow fluorite is a calcium fluoride in terms of chemical composition and is a widespread mineral typical of hydrothermal veins. It is a very fragile stone and requires exceptional care; the stones are cut and polished exclusively by hand. The origin of the stone dates back to the Sichuan province of China.

Uniqueness of the stone: As the name suggests, the dominant feature of this mineral will be its stunning range of colours in shades of purple, green and white, which are often zonally alternating. It is very popular among collectors.

Limitations: rainbow fluorite is extremely susceptible to all kinds of damage. Just rinsing in hot water (or heat shock) causes cracking. Definitely do not expose the stone to direct sunlight, and also do not clean it in chemical products.
