use
- Use a base color varnish in a contrasting color. Make sure the base coat has dried well before applying the crackle varnish (the longer you wait, the better). As a base coat, it is better to choose matt varnishes because they dry quickly and look interesting in cracks.
- Then apply the crackle varnish. The thinner the layer of cracking paint, the more cracks are formed. To create different effects, try playing with it: alternating thin and thicker layers, applying varnish in different directions, combining different colours of base and crackle varnish, using it in French manicure.
- When dry, crackle paint looks dull and can flake off quickly. Therefore, it is better to repaint with topcoat or clearcoat to smooth and maintain.
