How to use dish sponges:
- Lint removal - Gently rub the linty areas a few times with a new coarse and dry sponge. The lint will catch on the coarse surface. You won’t risk damaging the fabric as you would when removing it with a disposable razor or an electric shaver.
- Self-watering flowers - If you place a sponge at the bottom of the flower pot, your flowers will stay watered longer. The sponge will absorb water and the flower will later take only as much water as it needs.
- Quick nail polish remover - With the help of a dish sponge and any container you have left over from perhaps a cream, you can create a nail polish remover hack. Just cut the sponge into two strips, roll it as tightly as possible into a snail shape, place it in the container, and pour in your favorite nail polish remover. The sponge will expand in the container, and then you just need to dip your finger into the center and twist the container a few times.
- Cooling bags - If you don’t have a cooling bag or purchased cooling packs on hand, rely on the sponges. Just take a new clean sponge, wet it, put it in a bag, and place it in the freezer.
- Available lint remover - If you don’t have a special brush handy, try using a dish sponge on your sofa, carpet, or even coat. Just dampen it slightly.
