Sodalite tends to be light to dark blue, or blue-grey, often accompanied by white veins. In any case, it does not lack lustre - glassy to oily. It is common in Namibia, Canada and Brazil. Incidentally, compact blue blocks of sodalite come from Brazilian localities, which reach truly gigantic dimensions. In addition to jewellery, sodalite is used for the production of exclusive tiles and gigantic interior sculptures. The stone we offer comes from Brazil and Namibia.
In terms of composition, it is sodium aluminosilicate with chlorine.
