Preparation of the substrate
The window frame must be treated before glazing, including the half-groove (the place for the glass to be placed), by impregnating it with linen fermé or primer. Metal frames and parts must be painted with anticorrosive paint.
Preparing the putty and puttying
Knead the putty in your hand to prepare the doughy mass. When glazing, apply a thin layer to the half groove and place the glass so that it adheres all around the perimeter. The glass is secured with extensions. The putty is then applied with a glass cutter to the half-slot in which the glass is placed. After filling the half groove, smooth the surface of the sealant with a knife.
The sealant is surface-dry within 24 hours at room temperature, but it can be recoated after 14 days. After 1 month at the latest, the sealed layer must be recoated with a primer and topcoat of oil, synthetic or dispersion. Cover the unused sealant with foil and seal well.
Shade and diluent: 0605 - grey-beige light, linen fermé. After washing, dry, put in the sorted waste.
