Preparation of the substrate
before glazing, the window frame must be treated, including the half-groove (the place for the glass to be placed), by impregnation with linen fermse or primer paint. Metal frames and parts must be painted with anti-corrosive paint.
Sealant preparation and sealing
prepare the putty by kneading it in the hand into a doughy mass. When glazing, apply a thin layer in the half-groove and place the glass so that it adheres all around the perimeter. The glass is secured with extensions. The putty is then pressed into the half-groove in which the glass is placed using a glass cutter. When the half-groove is filled, smooth the surface of the putty with a knife.
The sealant dries superficially within 24 hours at room temperature, but can only be recoated with paint after 14 days. After 1 month at the latest, the sealant layer must be recoated with a base and top coat of oil, synthetic or dispersion paint. Cover the unused sealant with foil and seal it well.
