use

Disinfect the LadyCup before first use.

The ideal position for insertion/removal of the LadyCup is sitting/standing.
Squeeze the cup simultaneously with your thumb and forefinger and insert it into the vagina in a squatting position so that the entire lower edge of the cup is hidden in the vagina. A well-inserted cup cannot be felt in the body. Remove the cup again and empty it after approximately 4 to 5 hours, but no later than 12 hours. During menstruation, it is not necessary to boil or wash the cup with soap repeatedly; it is sufficient to rinse it with warm Water.

8 reasons to switch to a cup

  • It is better for your health than tampons. Unlike a tampon, the cup cannot breed bacteria and is not filled with any cheMicals.
  • Cups are not associated with toxic shock syndrome.
  • The insertion of the cup is extremely easy. It is made of soft medical grade silicone and fits perfectly to the vagina.
  • Maintenance is very simple, just boil in Water for 5 minutes before menstruation.
  • The cup is very long lasting. It lasts up to 15 years with proper maintenance. So you don't have to buy pads and tampons over and over again and worry if you've brought enough.
  • The cup is much more environmentally friendly. Just imagine the amount of pads and tampons saved over the years.
  • You can use the cup for all activities including swimming and cycling. You don't even know you have it.
  • The cup is recommended for women who have problems with recurrent vaginal mycosis. It does not dry out the vaginal mucosa.

How to use the cup

  • It's best to try inserting the cup before your period starts to find the optimal placement. If you're still unsure of the correct insertion, use a slip liner to be safe.
  • It is best to insert the cup in the squatting position. If you are inserting it before the start of your period, it is a good idea to wet the cup. Inserting it outside of the period is much more difficult, as the vaginal mucosa is not as vascularised. Don't let this put you off :-)
  • When the cup is all the way in the vagina, you can let go and it will open up. It is no more difficult to insert than a tampon, so there is nothing to worry about.
  • To make sure you have inserted the cup correctly, grasp the stem and try to pull it up a little. If it doesn't work, the insertion was correct and the desired vacuum was created. If it could be pulled out easily, it probably didn't expand correctly.
  • When removing, cancel the vacuum created by squeezing the bottom of the cup. The cup will then pull out without any problems.
  • If you are inexperienced, we recommend that you empty the cup after about 4 hours. You will soon find that you can leave it in longer. Empty it after no more than 12 hours. You can keep the cup in overnight.
  • If you have heavy menstruation, the cup may leak in the first few days. In this case, use a pad as a supplement.

How to care for the cup

  • It is necessary to sterilize the cup before menstruation. The best way is to let the cup boil for about 5 minutes in boiling Water. We recommend adding a teaspoon of Gaia Magic Touch powder to the Water.
  • When emptying during menstruation, simply wash the cup with cool Water and reinsert it. We recommend carrying a Water bottle with you in public toilets.
  • The cup May Change colour over time, just as a baby pacifier does. This does not mean that it is dirty.
  • The use of the cup is completely odourless. Menstrual blood only gives off an unpleasant smell when it comes into contact with a pad or tampon that has been soaked in various deodorants.

What is a good stopper for?
A stopper is a safety device in case you can't remove the cup. This usually happens in the beginning when you're getting to know the cup and haven't practiced removing it yet. Fear can also play a role, as it prevents you from relaxing and removing the cup easily. Don't be afraid! Practice makes perfect, and that's true in this case too.

Once you start using the cup repeatedly, you may find that you don't like the stem or don't need it at all. You can shorten it to a length that suits you or cut it off completely. Just be careful not to damage the cup in the process.

Remember that the best way to remove the cup is by squeezing the bottom of the cup to release the vacuum.

Silicone and animal testing
What about silicone? Are animals being harmed because of the production of cups? At Econea.cz, we deal with the issue of animal testing in great detail. In the case of medical silicone, it is true that it has been tested, but decades ago, and not for menstrual cups. In the past, such materials and substances had to be tested compulsorily. Fortunately, today there are companies that no longer test silicone, because it is enough that it has been tested in the past.
