imnoquartzite is a freshWater siliceous rock made up of opal or a variety of quartz. The name comes from the words limnic (lake, freshWater) and quartzite (siliceous rock). Their occurrence is related to thermal Water outflows. The offered stone is from Slovakia.
Uniqueness of the stone: limonquartzite lines up in brown shades. The colour is caused by iron hydroxides, which are formed by the decomposition of microscopic pyrite grains dispersed in the surrounding rock. The most beautiful Slovak limnoquartzites come from Bansko in Slanské vrchy. Thanks to their colour and texture, they take on the character of a precious stone.
