A mineral named after the deposits in the Amazon River. Amazonite can appear in emerald green to blue-green tones. Unfortunately, today only a very small proportion boasts deep green colours, most stones do not reach such intensity. The raw material comes from the Minas Gerais mines in Brazil.
In terms of composition, it is a rare green variety of potassium feldspar microcline that contains small amounts of rubidium oxide.
