Chrysocolla is a mineral from the class of silicates. It is distinguished by its turquoise to greenish-blue colour, which is due to its high copper content. It is a secondary mineral, formed by the decomposition of sulphides (pyrite, chalcopyrite, etc.). It is a very widespread mineral worldwide. Known deposits are in Indonesia, Russia, USA, Israel, Peru and Chile.
