Morganite is a variety of beryl in terms of composition. It is mainly known from the Himalayan mines, where it takes the form of pink crystals often of gem quality. Morganite was first discovered in California and got its name from the collector J. P. Morgan. The species on offer comes from Nigeria.

Uniqueness of the stone: Nigerian morganite forms a vein-like mass of light pinkish-orange color that can be worked into tumbled stones available at a very reasonable price. AA quality is characterized by a light pinkish-orange color, with small flecks on the surface of the stone.

Limitations: Morganite is fragile, do not expose it to heat.
