A green epidote (or Silicate of Calcium, aluminium and iron) into which thin veins of red and red-brown jasper (a mixture of chalcedony, opal and hematite pigment) penetrate. This is epidote jasper, a very attractive stone from the Limpopo province of South Africa.
Uniqueness of the stone: the main attraction is the two-colour combination, which contributes to the unique appearance. When grading stones, great emphasis is placed on the fact that each piece also contains the aforementioned veins. African natives call it Dragon stone after a species of lizard. They remind them of miniature Dragons and like to bask on this stone.
