Alkaprén 50 plus toluene-free contact adhesive for rubber, metal, glass, 50 ml

Alkaprén® 50 Plus is a light beige, toluene-free rubber contact adhesive designed for bonding absorbent materials with non-absorbent ones (e.g., rubber - concrete, leather - rubber, laminate - wood). The adhesive can also be used for bonding roofing rubber waterproofing membranes to concrete, CETRIS boards, bitumen membranes, etc.

Alkaprén® 50 Plus adhesive is applied only once when bonding absorbent materials with non-absorbent ones, using either a spatula, spray gun, or brush. When bonding absorbent materials, at least one of the bonded materials must be coated with adhesive again before bonding. Before application, the adhesive must be thoroughly mixed. A thin layer of adhesive is applied to each clean, degreased surface (smooth surfaces are recommended to be roughened), allowed to become tacky, and then both surfaces are bonded. The bonded joint is recommended to be weighted or pressed. Mechanically, the bonded joint can be stressed only after 24 hours from bonding.

Optimal bonding conditions are at a temperature of 20 °C. Cold adhesive creates a bond with significantly lower strength. At temperatures below 5 °C, gelation may occur. In this state, the adhesive is unusable. The original consistency is regained by slowly tempering it in a room at a temperature of approximately 25 °C. During tempering, the adhesive needs to be mixed several times. After tempering, the adhesive has its original physical-mechanical properties. Tempering should not be done by direct heating! Below 0 °C, the adhesive irreversibly coagulates and its adhesive properties cannot be revived.
