Perfect make-up removal is not a science! But if you want to make sure your skin is perfectly exfoliated, follow our ten tips.
1. Avoid using products containing alcohol
- If you have sensitive skin, prefer products that are not perfumed.
2.Choose good quality make-up remover pads. Use pads that have a firm texture and a soft surface that won't irritate the sensitive skin around the eyes. If the pads break down, shed hair or are too coarse, replace them with other pads. Moisturised wipes are more suitable for holidays, don't use them every day.
3. Don't put unnecessary pressure on your skin when exfoliating. It's not true that the more pressure you put on your skin, the more thoroughly you'll remove impurities. Gentle microfibre cotton pads can cleanse your skin thoroughly without scrubbing,
which will only irritate your skin. Exfoliate with gentle, soft strokes.
4. Amoistened face is much easier to remove. Gently moisten either your face or the cotton pad with a facial toner. Be careful what pads you use, though - inferior ones will easily disintegrate when moistened, leaving you with cotton-fibre clogged skin.
5.Always use more than one pad per make-up removal, because a dirty pad transfers impurities back to the skin and unnecessarily clogs the pores. Once the pad is clean, replace it with a clean one.
6. For the forehead and cheeks, use a pad with a larger surface area. For example, try Bel oval pads. They are larger than conventional round pads and a single pad is enough to clean a much larger area of skin
are more suited for removing eye makeup and the last of your makeup.
7.Start by removing your eye make-up. Most of your make-up is on your eyes, so remove it first. Use only toners designed for eye make-up removal to avoid unpleasant redness, burning eyes and watery eyes. Remove waterproof mascara with an oil-based make-up remover. Make sure you make sure you remove your eye make-up thoroughly, as residual make-up can cause conjunctivitis.
8. Continue on the forehead, working your way down through the nose and cheeks. Once your eyes are makeup-free, take a larger oval cotton pad, apply makeup remover lotion and gently remove makeup from the top to the bottom - starting with the forehead
keep removing until the last swab is completely clean. Use a facial toner to cleanse your skin.
9. Yourlips need to be exfoliated too. Bacteria and dirt can also cling to your lips, which can cause chapped corners or early wrinkles around the mouth. First, apply a drop of make-up remover to your lips, then moisten the swab slightly and wipe the make-up in a few circular strokes across the entire lip area.
10.Don't leave out the neck. The neck is an indicator of your age. The skin on the neck is very delicate and prone to the first wrinkles, so take a larger swab and wipe away any impurities from the chin down to the neckline.
