Are you using repellent correctly?

1. First use a sunscreen, let it absorb and then apply the repellent. If you have to renew your sunblock after a while, this does not apply to repellent unless you notice that the insects are starting to bother you more. It is advisable to avoid 2-in-1 products combining the effect of both sun protection and insect protection, as sun protection needs to be applied more frequently than insect protection.
2. Apply gently and evenly and do not over-apply. mosquitoes can even find a small unlubricated spot on your skin. Shake the contents of the jar and spray the product evenly on the skin and clothes from a distance of 10-20 cm. For lotions and creams, you should also pay more attention to the information on the packaging - it usually encourages you to apply a thin layer of the product to exposed areas. It should be enough - with repellent, more is not better. Try to avoid inhaling the repellent at all times, so apply it in a well-ventilated area and away from open flames.
3. Do not apply under clothing. Although clothing will protect you from insects wherever it covers your skin, you should spray that too, just to be safe. However, before doing so, test the spray on a small hidden area of the fabric to see if it will damage it in time. Never use repellent under clothing. It's unnecessary and it can harm you.
4. Apply the product with your hands to sensitive areas. Never spray directly into the face or on the ears. Spray the required amount on your palm and then spread the product over your face, neck and the outer part of your ears. Avoid the eyes and nostrils. Don't forget to lubricate your head if you have bald or shaved hair. Repellent can aggravate cuts and other wounds, so avoid areas with broken or irritated skin. Wash your hands well after application, especially if you are going to eat.

6. Think of the safety of the children. according to experts, children under two months of age should not use repellent at all. Don't spray directly on the skin of the older ones either. 7. Repeat the application only if necessary. a quality repellent will protect for several hours. However, some of us are more intensely interested in insects than others. If mosquitoes are starting to bother you again, it means it's time to reapply repellent. This should also be kept in mind after bathing or during heavy sweating, when repellent can be washed off.

When you return from insect-free areas, wash the repellent off yourself and your children thoroughly with soap and water.
