Ammonium water is used for cleaning, etching, and other technical purposes. Technical ammonium water is a solution of synthetic ammonia in water. It is a corrosive liquid with a penetrating odor, strongly alkaline, colorless to yellowish, sometimes slightly cloudy.

Use of BALTECH ammonium water:

Example of use:

Ammonium water is also used for oxidizing the surface of new zinc surfaces of sheets and gutters – on a fresh surface, paint does not adhere evenly, but creates spots. This process "ages" fresh zinc, so subsequently paint will adhere normally, and the surface will be well cleaned: Wash the area you want to paint with a 2-3% solution of ammonium water (25% ammonium water diluted with water at a ratio of 1 part ammonium water to 10 parts water, we can also add detergent, about 5 ml/liter), let it act for about 10 minutes until a metallic gray surface is created, which is then rinsed with clean water. After drying, we can start painting with color. The solution is toxic, as is the rinse water, dispose of according to the manufacturer's instructions. Available for purchase in drugstores.
