CLEANING AND CHARGING
The main advice for preserving the original appearance of the stone is to cover the new, washed, dried product or inlay with a colorless varnish. Then the jewelry will be able to please the eye longer. Even with very careful care, pyrite will lose its appearance over time and may even collapse. Collectors are advised to store pyrite specimens in a vacuum, and for those who can not afford it - at least simply boil them in paraffin.

A very aesthetically pleasing mineral with regular cubic crystals that can grow up to several decimetres in size. Pyrite is popular among collectors for its brassy yellow hue and high metallic lustre. It is sometimes called "fool's gold" because it has often been mistaken for this precious metal in the past. Locations of its occurrence can be found all over the world, but the most beautiful are found in Peru - the same origin of our stones. In terms of chemical composition, it is an iron disulfide.
