The solution of green vitriol (ferrous sulfate) is applied by spraying to eliminate moss in lawns. Green vitriol, a moss control agent, serves as fertilizer for fertilizing plants during the growing season through foliar spray.

The Green Vitriol fertilizer is intended for fertilizing strawberries, fruit trees and saplings, grapevines, conifers, and ornamental lawns. It is a fast-acting fertilizer that serves to supplement iron in plant nutrition during the growing season. Iron is a significant nutrient and influences the formation of chlorophyll, growth, coloration, and appearance of plants.

In pome fruits, stone fruits, strawberries, and grapevines, iron deficiency most commonly manifests as localized yellowing of leaves, known as chlorosis (yellowing), after which damage occurs and fruit yields decline. In ornamental lawns, the deficiency manifests as deterioration in health and appearance and also leads to the emergence of undesirable mosses and lichens. These can be effectively removed by spraying a mixture of green vitriol dissolved with ammonium sulfate.

Disinfection:

It is used for the treatment of drinking, surface, and technological waters, most effectively in the alkaline range of pH, and also for the purification of wastewater. It can also be used as a disinfectant for foot diseases in cattle.

Dyeing:

During reactions, this substance creates colored compounds, therefore it is used for dyeing. An organometallic compound with gallic acid was historically used as ink.

Against mosses in lawns:

To dissolve, strain, and apply preferably with a chemical protection sprayer. Works excellently.
