Sugar beet storage procedure
Sugar beet can be stored in different ways. It is normally stored immediately after harvest on uNPAved field-garden storage sites. Natural ventilation is the most common method of storing sugar beet. Ventilation is particularly important in the first 3 to 5 days after harvest, when the tubers show maximum respiration. Pieces for storage shall be selected undamaged. A suitable place for storage is the cellar, where it is not too cold or frosty. Beetroot is stored in a crate and it is recommended to check it regularly to see if it is rotting or drying out.
Do not use the seed for consumption. Store in a dry and dark place, out of reach of children.
