Crystal is one of the most popular gemstones in the world.

From the composition perspective, it is the purest transparent variety of crystallized quartz. It forms by crystallization from very pure siliceous hydrothermal solutions; most commonly, it forms pseudohexagonal crystals that can be up to several decimeters in size. It often occurs in the cracks of certain sediments, crystalline schists (so-called.alpine veins) or in the cavities of pegmatites. You can find it in many locations around the world, with the most famous being the deposits in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
