In addition to aerosol components and surfactants, foam and liquid styling products differ slightly in their base composition. Both products contain film-forming and nourishing ingredients as their basic ingredients. Synthetic resins cover each hair with a stable film, providing stability and hold. The amount of film is determined by the desired level of hold. Cationic polymers result in easier combing and prevent the buildup of products. Water and alcohol are used as solvents.
