Step 1
several days before coloring with permanent color, we will not use conditioners or hair treatments that seal the surface of the hair, as the color then poorly adheres. Also, we do not wash the hair before coloring, as a protective film should remain on the scalp.
Step 2
in case we have bought a new untested color, we perform a patch test to avoid possible skin irritation. Mix a small amount of color with the developer emulsion, apply it to the elbow bend and leave it on the skin for at least twenty-four hours. If the skin turns red or itches, the color is not suitable for us.
Step 3
apply a greasy cream or petroleum jelly to the skin around the forehead, ears, and neck. This prevents undesirable staining of the skin, which is difficult to remove. Cover our shoulders with a towel.
Step 4
put on the gloves. According to the instructions, mix the color and developer emulsion in a bowl and stir it with a plastic stick. (For some hair colors, the coloring cream is squeezed directly into the application bottle and thoroughly shaken.)
Step 5
apply the mixture preferably using a comb or hairbrush, following the instructions on the leaflet included in the package. Be careful of the color running onto the face; it's good to have a damp cloth handy.
Step 6
after the specified time (30–45 minutes), rinse the color until clean water runs from the hair. Treat the hair with a neutralizing conditioning treatment or balm and wash it with shampoo. Finally, style it into the desired hairstyle.
