do not use conditioners or hair treatments for a few days before dyeing with permanent dye, as they seal the surface of the hair and the dye does not adhere well to it. Also, do not wash the hair before dyeing, as a protective film should remain on the scalp.
2. step
if we have bought a new untested colour, we carry out a tolerance test to avoid possible skin irritation. We mix a small amount of colour with a developing lotion, apply it to the crook of the elbow and leave it on the skin for at least twenty-four hours. If the skin becomes red or itchy, the colour is not suitable.
3. step
the skin around the forehead, ears and neck with a greasy cream or petroleum jelly. This prevents the skin from becoming discoloured, which is difficult to get off. Cover the shoulders with a towel.

Put on gloves. According to the instructions, mix the dye and developer emulsion in a bowl and use a plastic stick to stir it in. (For some hair dyes, the dye cream is squeezed straight into the application bottle and shaken thoroughly.)

Apply the mocha preferably with a comb or hairbrush, following the instructions on the leaflet included in the package. Be careful of the colour running down into your face, it's a good idea to have a dampened napkin handy.
