Properties:
yellow liquid (at 20 °C), odour characteristic of linseed oil, boiling point 250 °C.
Due to its favourable price and relatively fast drying, linseed oil is one of the most widely used oils for wood treatment. Due to its good penetrating properties, it can be used to impregnate wood and thus increase its resistance to moisture. The disadvantage of linseed oil is its relatively strong yellowing and darkening, which, however, gives the wood its typical Amber colour.
