Synthetic oil-penetrating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining of both soft and hardwoods exposed to weather influences, as well as for use in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates into the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy refurbishing of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free from residue of resins before application. Wood with increased resin content (larch, pine) must be de-resinated first, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of wood intended for exterior use must first be treated with an appropriate fungicidal primer that protects the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., using LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of wood intended for interior use should preferably first be treated with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 colorless stain. Treating with a colorless primer ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of paint. Subsequently, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then apply the penetrating stain. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove old unstable layers, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: BALTECH S6006 thinner (especially for washing tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per one layer depending on substrate absorbency
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the staining lacquer. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats, for outdoor applications it is advisable to use three coats, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, any unabsorbed lacquer should be wiped off with a dry brush or cloth after 10 to 15 minutes of application.Always use material from the same production batch for continuous surfaces. Using the same production batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the final shade of the coating; therefore, we recommend performing a test coat before final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted if made with reference to the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coat applied with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with the stain must be disposed of safely, as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may need covering materials such as paper masking tape or covering film. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
