Synthetic oil wood stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining treatments on soft and hard woods exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, thereby providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden facades, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, treatment of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, free from residue of resins before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface treatment and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.

The wood surface intended for exterior use must first be treated with an appropriate fungicidal primer that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. For interior wood surfaces, it is advisable to first treat them with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Treatment with a colorless primer ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before the next application of coatings. Subsequently, the wood surface should be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the impregnating stain be applied. When renewing coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, for example, by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on substrate absorbency

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing onto the pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, as it is already at the application viscosity. During the work, the stain must be regularly mixed. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe any excess stain after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

For large areas, always use packaging from the same production batch, which guarantees a consistent color shade. The type of wood, surface condition, and previous coatings affect the final color tone; therefore, it is advisable to carry out a test coat before the final work. Complaints about the shade can only be recognized based on the test area.
To achieve a high gloss, you can overcoat the dried stain with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 varnish or with a natural shade stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floor areas can be coated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) saturated with stain must be safely disposed of, as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you will appreciate covering materials such as masking film or paper adhesive tape. Don’t forget to use suitable brushes and rollers.
