Synthetic oil-absorbing stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, and thus provides highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is only intended for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages, and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, impregnation of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be completely rid of any resin bleed, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish as well as the total lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal primer that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is best first treated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Impregnation with colorless primer ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of the coatings. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and then apply the impregnating stain. When renovating coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adherent layer of paint, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on substrate absorbency
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on a pre-prepared surface. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at the application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the staining lacquer. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.
Always use material from the same production batch for continuous surfaces. If the same production batch is used, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final color shade; therefore, it is recommended to perform a test coat before the final application. Complaints about color shades will only be recognized in cases of complaints about the test area.
For high gloss, a dried layer applied with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with the natural shade of the stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.
You may need covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or masking film. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
