Synthetic oil impregnation stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood against the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is only intended for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall cladding, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with increased resin content (larch, pine) must be previously freed from all resin exudations, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and the overall durability of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is best first impregnated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnator ensures uniform suction of the substrate before further applications of coatings. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and only then apply the impregnation stain. During renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old, non-adhering layer of paint, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l per one coat, depending on substrate absorbency
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on a previously prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already in application viscosity. During work, the staining varnish must be regularly mixed. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for applications indoors. Individual layers can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To enhance the wood grain uniformly, it is advisable to wipe off any unabsorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.Always use material from the same production batch on cohesive surfaces. Using the same production batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the resulting shade of the coating, therefore we recommend making a test coat before final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted based on complaints from the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coat made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be coated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of the LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be re-coated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.
You might find protective materials such as paper masking tape or covering film useful. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
