Synthetic oil-based penetrating stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions and also for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates into the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall panels and ceilings, fences, cabins, and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudations, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface treatment and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.

The surface of wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with an appropriate fungicidal primer that protects the wood from mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of wood intended for indoor use is best pre-treated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with the colorless primer ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before the application of coating materials. Subsequently, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then should the penetrating stain be applied. In renovation coatings, old non-adhering layers must be removed from the wood, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, the staining varnish should be regularly mixed. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off any unabsorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

When painting continuous surfaces, always choose a product from the same production batch, which guarantees a uniform color tone. The final appearance of the shade is influenced by the type of wood, its surface treatment, and previous coatings; therefore, it is recommended to perform a test coat before full application. Any color shade complaints are recognized exclusively based on the test area.
High gloss can be achieved by overcoating the dry stain with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 using LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural tone stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. For floor treatment, LAZUROL OUTDOOR FOOTPRINT VARNISH S1020 can be used.

Warning: Absorbent materials (cloths, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you will also appreciate covering tools, such as covering foils or paper adhesive tapes. Brushes and rollers will also be helpful.
