CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood glaze S1023 is designed for protective glazing coatings on soft and hard woods exposed to weather effects as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood glaze penetrates deeply into the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, thereby providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceiling panels, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be free of all resin exudates beforehand, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood's pretreatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface finish as well as the overall longevity of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for exterior use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator, which ensures protection of the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. It is advisable to first impregnate the wood surface intended for interior use with colorless glaze LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnator ensures even absorbency of the substrate for subsequent application of coating materials. The wood surface must then be sanded with fine sandpaper before applying the impregnation glaze. For renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old unsound layer, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. The glaze does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the glazing lacquer. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless glaze is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly highlight the grain of the wood, it is advisable to wipe off any non-absorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

For continuous surfaces, always apply the coating from the same production batch, which ensures a uniform color tone. The final appearance of the shade depends on the type of wood, its surface, and previous coatings, and therefore it is recommended to conduct a test on a smaller area before the overall application. Any claims regarding the shade can only be recognized based on this test area.
If you want to achieve high gloss, you can overlay the dry layer of glaze LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of glaze LAZUROL GOLD S1037. For floors, LAZUROL OUTDOOR FOOT TRAFFIC VARNISH S1020 can be applied.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked in glaze must be safely disposed of because they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you will also appreciate covering tools such as protective films or paper adhesive tapes. Rollers and brushes will also come in handy.
