Synthetic oil wood stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective wood coatings for soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, and thus provides highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden facades, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high content of resins (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the pre-treatment of the wood affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish as well as the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for exterior use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal primer that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should first be treated with colorless LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain. Penetration with a colorless primer ensures uniform absorption of the substrate before the application of coating materials. The surface of the wood must then be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then should the staining varnish be applied. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adherent layer of varnish, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l per one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on a pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the staining varnish. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor applications, it is advisable to use three coats, but only with colored shades. Colorless stain is intended for interior applications. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe excess varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application with a dry brush or cloth.
For contiguous surfaces, always use material from the same production batch. Using the same production batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous wood finish affect the final color of the coating, so it is recommended to perform a test coat before the final application. Claims for color shades will only be accepted if a claim is made for the test surface.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coat made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may need covering materials such as paper tape or masking film. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
