Synthetic oil-based impregnating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining coatings on soft and hardwoods exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, and thus provides highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is only intended for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free of resin leftovers before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must first be free of all resin exudates, for example by washing with nitro thinner BALTECH C6000. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal primer that provides protection against fungal, mold, and insect attacks, for example using LAZUROL IMPREGNATION PRIMER S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is preferably treated first with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with colorless primer ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before applying the coating materials. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and only then apply the impregnating stain. In renovation coatings, it is essential to remove the old incompatible layer, for example by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate
WORKING PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the previously prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, as it is already at the application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the staining product. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats, for outdoor applications it is recommended to use three coats, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To achieve even enhancement of the wood grain, the excess stain should be wiped off with a dry brush or cloth after 10 to 15 minutes of application.Always use material from the same production batch for uniform areas. Using the same production batch ensures the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, therefore it is recommended to perform a trial application before the final application. Complaints regarding color shades will only be accepted if regarding the trial area.
For high gloss, the dried coat made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be re-coated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of the stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be re-coated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked in the stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You might find covering materials, such as paper masking tape or covering foil useful. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
