Synthetic oil primer stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of both soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions as well as for indoor coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates into the wood structure, highlighting its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It is very easy to restore the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages, and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, impregnation of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with a higher resin content (larch, pine) must be thoroughly cleaned of all resin exudates, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the preliminary treatment of the wood affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface finish as well as the overall durability of the coating system.

The wood surface intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal primer that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The wood surface intended for indoor use is recommended to be treated first with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The impregnation with a colorless primer ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate for subsequent application of coatings. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the wood surface with fine sandpaper and then apply the primer stain. In renovation coatings, it is essential to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the previously prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at the application viscosity. During work, the stain should be regularly mixed. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual layers can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly highlight the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed stain after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

For cohesive areas, always choose a color from the same production batch to ensure a consistent color shade. The final appearance is influenced by the type, condition of the surface, and previous treatment of the wood; therefore, it is recommended to perform a test coating in advance. Complaints about the color shade can only be accepted if a test area is provided.
To achieve a high gloss, you can coat the dried finish created by LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020 can be used for floors.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, will be useful. Don’t forget to equip yourself with brushes and rollers.
