Synthetic oil impregnating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining coats of soft and hardwoods, exposed to weather influences, as well as for indoor coatings. It protects wood against the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, and thus provides highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free of any resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be thoroughly stripped of all resin exudates, e.g. by washing with BALTECH C6000 nitro thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnant that protects the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g. using LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should be preferably impregnated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorption of the substrate by the wood before the application of the coating materials. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the impregnating stain be applied. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old, non-adhering layer from the wood, e.g. by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on substrate absorbency
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough stirring on the previously prepared substrate. It is not necessary to dilute the stain; it is already in application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the staining varnish. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, for outdoor coatings it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed varnish using a dry brush or cloth after 10 to 15 minutes from application.
For uniform areas, always use material from the same production batch. When using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, so we recommend performing a test coat before final application. Complaints regarding color shades will only be accepted upon complaint of the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coating made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be recoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of the LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be recoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You might find covering materials like paper masking tape or covering foil useful. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
