CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining coatings of soft and hardwood, exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood against the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, suspended ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, wood floor priming.

PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE:

The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be free from all resin exudates beforehand, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood's pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final surface treatment and the overall lifespan of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, such as LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is preferably treated first with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Priming with a colorless impregnator ensures an even absorption of the substrate before applying subsequent coatings. Afterwards, the surface of the wood needs to be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the impregnating stain be applied. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (particularly for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on substrate absorption

WORKING PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on a pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the staining lacquer. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For a uniform enhancement of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

When painting large surfaces, always choose the product from the same production batch, which ensures a consistent color tone. The final shade is influenced by the type of wood, the condition of its surface, and the previous coating; therefore, it is recommended to perform a test coating before full application. Shade complaints can only be recognized based on the test area.
To achieve a high gloss, the dried coating of the stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with lacquer LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of the stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floor surfaces can be treated with LAZUROL EXTERNAL WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you will also appreciate covering supplies, such as paper masking tape or protective film. Do not forget suitable brushes and rollers.
