Synthetic oil-based impregnating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hardwood that is exposed to weather conditions, as well as for indoor applications. It protects wood from UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain and providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden panels, ceilings, wall cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free from resin residues before application. Wood with increased resin content (larch, pine) must be free of all resin exudates beforehand, for example by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final surface finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The wood surface intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnation that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The wood surface intended for indoor use is best first treated with colorless wood stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with colorless impregnation ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before the application of coatings. Subsequently, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper and then only the impregnating stain can be applied. In renovation coatings, the wood must be freed from the old non-bonding layer, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (particularly for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on substrate absorbency
WORK PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the wood stain. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the excess stain after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth. For cohesive areas, always use material from the same production batch. Using the same production batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the resulting shade of the coating, so we recommend conducting a test coating before final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted when the complaint is regarding the test area.
For high gloss, the dried coating done with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL EXTERNAL WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with wood stain must be disposed of safely, as they can spontaneously ignite under certain conditions.
You may find covering materials such as paper adhesive tape or covering film helpful. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
