Synthetic thixotropic wood stain.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

LAZUROL GOLD S1037 wood stain is designed for long-lasting protective colored transparent coatings of soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions as well as for indoor coatings, e.g. garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling panelling, fences, cottages, and wooden houses. It creates a decorative protective film on the surface of the wood, which enhances the wood grain while also reinforcing the wood and providing long-term protection against moisture and UV radiation.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free of resin deposits before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be thoroughly cleaned of resin exudates beforehand, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood preparation affects the overall appearance of the final finish and the overall durability of the coating system.
First, the surface of the wood must be treated with a suitable primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate and provides higher protection for the wood (in the case of using a fungicidal primer, it also protects against mold, fungi, and insect infestation). Next, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper before applying the thick film stain.
For indoor coatings, it is recommended to use colorless LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 as a primer; for outdoor coatings, LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033 is suitable as a priming coat.
When renovating coats, the wood must be freed of old non-adhering coatings and ensure good substrate adhesion (when completely removing the old coat, the new coat is applied gradually, including treating the wood).

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 17 m2/1 liter for one layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Before use, stir thoroughly. LAZUROL GOLD is not diluted and is applied with a brush or roller on previously prepared, primed, and lightly sanded wood substrate in 2 to 3 layers, with the second coat being applicable after 6 hours. Any sanding of the previous coat can be done after 24 hours. The coating is applied in the direction of the wood grain. Color shades are mutually compatible. The type, surface, and previous wood treatment affect the final shade of the coating, so we recommend doing a test coat before the final application. Complaints regarding color shades will only be recognized if a test coat was performed and reported to us before execution.
For uniform areas, always use material from the same production batch. Using the same production batch ensures the same color shade. We recommend mixing color shades from different batches in a larger container before application. The shade of the stain further depends on the number and thickness of coats (the color sample board was developed on sanded spruce wood, which received 3 coats with a brush according to the recommended procedure).
This product is not suitable for coating floors and wood in permanently wet environments (e.g., saunas), wood treated with oils or waxes, or products containing waxes.
If this product is used to treat wood with a high tannin content (acacia, oak, larch), a test coat must be performed first. Due to the high tannin content, slow drying and subsequent leaching of tannins may occur, overall affecting the appearance of the coating film.

Toning:
Additional color shades are prepared through toning in the TELURMIX toning system.

You might find covering materials such as paper masking tape or covering foil handy. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
