Bilak A 0002 matte dispersion varnish for wood, transparent, 0.7 kg

BILAK A is a modern water-based transparent varnish with a wide user focus. It is used for both glazing coatings and for creating continuous protective films... colorless or tinted to the chosen shade. It is commonly applied on wooden, particle board, and fiberboard sheets and cladding, solid wooden objects and structures, or cork floors,... in both outdoor and indoor environments. The universal properties of the varnish allow for its use in applications such as strengthening and dust-free treatment of concrete floors.

Primarily for professional applications, the varnish is also produced in the modification "thick film glaze," which minimizes the number of layers needed to achieve adequate thickness of the protective film, including protection against the destruction of the substrate due to UV radiation exposure. At the same time, other properties such as vapor permeability and re-coating are optimized, making the varnish advantageous for the final treatment of ordinary wooden furniture including outdoor furniture. BILAK A is not suitable for environments with persistent condensation of water vapor or for creating protective coatings under water. Special applications should be consulted with the manufacturer.

Yield:
6 -8 m² /kg in one layer depending on the complexity and porosity of the substrate. Glazing coatings 10 - 18 m2/kg of varnish.

Dilution:
The varnish is optimally diluted for regular applications right from production. It can be further diluted with water to the desired workability as per user requirements.

Application:
BILAK A is applied with a brush, paint roller, or by spraying. Absorbent substrates, including wood, should first be biocidally treated and well soaked with a suitable penetrating agent ... e.g. BILEP F. (Suitable fungicidal agents ... PREGNOLIT D - sanitary, BOCHEMIT QB, PREGNOLIT UNI, LIGNOFIX Eko, ... ) Impregnation with varnish diluted in a ratio of 1:2 with water (varnish:water) is also possible but less suitable. Remove resins from the surface of coniferous woods with high resin content (especially pine) first with a mixture of available solvents (non-polar x polar)... e.g.: technical xylene (S6005) + ethyl alcohol (denatured spirit) in a ratio of about 1:1. For creating glazing coatings on wood, the varnish is diluted with water in a ratio of about 1:1. When applying, ensure that the cured film on the surface of the wood is not visually apparent. Wipe off excess varnish with a cloth. Glazing coatings for outdoor environments are better suggested in a richer shade (to protect the wooden substrate against UV radiation). Continuous protective films should be created by applying undiluted varnish in at least two layers. Particularly for colorless coatings in outdoor environments, it is necessary to achieve a minimum thickness of the cured film of 120µm, which can be achieved with approximately three layers of undiluted varnish (with consumption around 0.5 kg/m2).

In the case of using the varnish modification "thick film glaze," this thickness can be achieved in just two operations. For strengthening silicate substrates, it is necessary to first use a special deep-penetrating agent BILEP F (diluted with approximately 50% water) several times until it is absorbed, and then the prepared substrate can be treated with two layers of undiluted varnish in the chosen shade. The varnish is applied on a dry, clean substrate free of contaminants. The substrate and surrounding temperature must not drop below +8°C. Maintain a technological break between layers - typically around 8 hours under normal conditions. Mix the varnish well before use; semi-matte and matte versions should be mixed during work. Consult complex situations with the manufacturer.

Composition:
A mixture of inorganic and special organic pigments in a polyacrylate dispersion in a balanced composition with special additives including UV stabilizers. According to Act No. 86/2002 Coll., in its valid form, and Regulation of the Ministry of the Environment No. 355/2002 Coll., in its valid form, §13, paragraph 1) the varnish is not considered a preparation containing organic volatile compounds (VOC).
