Biopol Paints Silicone Silver, this heat-resistant paint is used for effective protection of steel and cast iron objects and structures that are exposed to cyclical and thermal stress (heat exchangers, flue pipes, car exhausts, steam pipes). The baked coating is resistant to organic solvents, diesel, gasoline, and diluted acid and alkali solutions. Silicone Silver has been developed for effective protection of steel and cast iron objects and structures exposed to cyclical thermal stress. The paint is formulated based on top-grade silicone resin and a special aluminum composition that does not degrade even at temperatures around 500 °C. It permanently withstands temperatures up to 500 °C. The silver paint can be advantageously used to protect components of engines, heat exchangers, flue pipes, exhausts from rusty steel, and steel pipes for sharp and hot steam, exhausts from dryers. The unbaked paint has equivalent protective properties against weathering. However, it is softer and does not protect the substrate from the action of organic solvents. The paint is applied in at least two layers depending on the aggressiveness of the external environment. For normal weather conditions, the minimum layer of hardened film is 13 μm (equivalent to 3-4 coats).
Drying:
up to 45 minutes depending on environmental conditions, after 2 hours without imprint
Coverage:
5 - 7 m²/kg depending on the roughness and porosity of the surface being painted
Application:
with a brush, roller, spraying, dipping
Dilution and cleaning:
S6005, Xylene
Application:
The paint is applied with a brush, roller, spraying, or dipping. It is usually preferable to brush the first layer. Between individual layers, allow for normal time intervals of at least 4 hours. It is optimal to let each layer dry and bake at 200 °C for 30 minutes. The coating system does not have to be baked, but it is softer and does not withstand the action of organic solvents. When subsequently baking the entire CS, ensure a gradual increase in temperature!!! The most suitable preparation of the steel and cast iron substrate is blasting. Minimum requirements: removal of rust and old degraded coatings, and degreasing. This is followed by the actual coating system, usually 3x SILICONE SILVER. For substrate preparation and application of CS, we recommend following the principles of the technical standards ČSN EN ISO 1 1-8 and the accompanying regulations ČSN ISO 8501 850226.)
