Synthetic oil-based penetrating stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions and for indoor applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall coverings, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free from residue of resins before application. Wood with an increased resin content (larch, pine) must be freed from all resin exudations in advance, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood's pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final surface finish and the overall lifespan of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for exterior use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal primer to protect the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for interior use should first be treated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The penetration with a colorless primer ensures even absorbency of the substrate before further application of paints. It is then necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and only then apply the penetrating stain. When renovating coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (mainly for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Mix the product thoroughly before application and apply with a brush on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is supplied in application viscosity. During painting, stir the lacquer regularly. For interiors, it is sufficient to apply 1 to 2 layers; for exteriors, it is recommended to apply three layers, exclusively in tinted shades. The colorless stain is for indoor applications only. The interval between individual coatings is 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood's structure, it is recommended to wipe off the unabsorbed lacquer with a dry cloth or brush 10 to 15 minutes after application.

When working on continuous surfaces, always use material from the same production batch to ensure a matching color shade. The type of wood, its surface finish, and any previous coats can affect the final tone, so it is advisable to perform a test application before final coating. Any claims regarding the shade will only be accepted based on the test area.
If a high gloss is desired, the dried surface treated with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. For walkable wooden floors, LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020 is intended.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.

During work, you may find covering materials such as covering foil or paper adhesive tape useful. Don’t forget to also acquire brushes and rollers.
