Synthetic oil impregnation stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions, as well as for indoor applications. It protects the wood against the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, highlighting its natural grain and providing a highly effective finish. It is characterized by very easy refurbishment of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood's pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final finish and the overall service life of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnating agent, which provides protection against fungi, mold, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. For indoor wood, it is advisable to first treat it with colorless LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain. The penetration of the colorless impregnating agent will ensure uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper before applying the impregnation stain. When renovating coatings, it is necessary to remove the old incoherent layer, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on substrate absorbency
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing onto the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the glazing varnish. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor applications, it is advisable to use three coats, but only in color shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly highlight the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the excess varnish with a dry brush or cloth after 10 to 15 minutes of application.
Always use material from the same production batch for larger areas. When using the same production batch, a consistent color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the final shade of the coating, so it is recommended to perform a test coating before final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted if the complaint is about the test area.
For high gloss, it is possible to topcoat the dried layer made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be coated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with the stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.
You might find protective materials such as paper masking tape or covering film useful. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
