Synthetic oil-based impregnating stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining coats on soft and hard woods exposed to weather conditions, as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood against the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of a maximum of 12%, and free of any resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be free of all resin exudates beforehand, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood's pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final surface finish and the overall lifespan of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is advisable to first impregnate with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetrating with a colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then the impregnating stain applied. For renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat, depending on substrate absorbency

WORK PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on a pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted as it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the staining varnish. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, three layers are recommended but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior applications. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes using a dry brush or cloth.

When painting continuous surfaces, always choose a product from the same production batch to ensure a uniform color shade. The final appearance of the shade depends on the type, surface, and original coating of the wood, and therefore we recommend testing the application on a sample before the final coating. Possible complaints about the color shade can only be accepted based on the test area.
If you want to achieve a high gloss, you can coat the dry layer with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with the natural shade of the stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be repainted with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you will appreciate covering materials such as protective films or paper adhesive tapes. Don't forget to also acquire rollers and brushes.
