Synthetic oil wood impregnation stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of softwood and hardwood exposed to outdoor conditions, as well as for indoor applications. It protects wood from UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy restoration of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden eaves, ceilings, wall cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be completely free from all resin exudates, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 solvent. The quality of the wood pretreatment affects the overall appearance of the final surface finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnation agent, which ensures protection against fungus, mold, and insects, for example, with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is preferably initially impregnated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with the colorless impregnating agent ensures even absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and then apply the wood stain. When renovating, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer of paint, for example, by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on a pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted as it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the stain. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the grain of the wood, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed stain with a dry brush or cloth 10 to 15 minutes after application.
For larger areas, always use material from the same production batch. When using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, so we recommend conducting a test coat before final application. Claims regarding color shades will only be accepted if arising from a claim for the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coat made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they can ignite spontaneously under certain conditions.
You might find protective materials, such as paper masking tape or protective film useful. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
