CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather effects as well as for interior coatings. It protects the wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates into the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Before application, the wood must be clean, dry, thoroughly sanded, free of resin remnants, and have a moisture content of a maximum of 12%. Wood species rich in resin (such as larch or pine) must be pre-treated to remove any resinous exudate, for example by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The carefulness of the prior wood treatment directly affects the final appearance of the surface and the overall durability of the entire coating system.

Wooden substrates intended for outdoor use should first be treated with an appropriate fungicidal impregnation agent to ensure protection against fungi, mold, and insects – for example, using LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. For interior use, it is advisable to pre-treat the wood with the colorless coating LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The penetration with colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate for subsequent layers. Afterwards, gently sand the surface of the wood with sandpaper and only then apply the impregnation stain. In the case of renovating older coatings, it is necessary to remove loose layers from the wood, for instance by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at an application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the staining lacquer. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, for outdoor coatings, it is recommended to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unwiped lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application with a dry brush or cloth.

For consistent areas, always choose color from a single production batch to ensure identical color shade. The final appearance of the coating is influenced by the type of wood, the condition of its surface, and previous coatings, therefore, before starting work, it is recommended to carry out a test coating. Claims for color can only be made based on the test coating.
To achieve a high gloss, you can overcoat the dried stain with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be repainted with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.

Covering materials such as cover film or paper adhesive tape may also come in handy. Don’t forget to also purchase brushes and rollers.
