Synthetic oil-based impregnating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden cladding, ceilings, wall cladding, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with high resin content (larch, pine) must be freed from all resin exudations beforehand, e.g. by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final surface treatment of the wood and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g. with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is preferably first impregnated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with the colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper and then the impregnating stain can be applied. In the case of renovation coatings, the wood must be freed from the old non-adhering layer, e.g. by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate
WORK PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing to the pre-prepared substrate. It is not necessary to dilute the stain as it is already at application viscosity. During work, the staining varnish should be regularly mixed. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To evenly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the excess varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.
Always use material from the same production batch for uniform areas. Using the same production batch ensures the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final color of the coating, so it is recommended to perform a test coat before final application. Claims regarding color shades will only be recognized in the case of a claim for the test area.
For a high gloss, the dried coating applied with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural shade of the stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they can spontaneously ignite under certain conditions.
You may find covering materials such as paper masking tape or covering film useful. Don’t forget the brushes and rollers.
