Synthetic oil-based impregnating stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hard woods exposed to weathering as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates into the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, and thus provides highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The wooden substrate must be clean, dry, properly sanded, free of resin residues, and have a moisture content of no more than 12%. For woods with a higher resin content (e.g., pine or larch), all resin exudation must be removed in advance, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of wood preparation depends on the final appearance of the coating and the overall durability of the entire coating system.

Wood designated for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator protecting against fungi, molds, and insects, such as LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. In interiors, it is recommended to first soak the substrate with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetrating with a colorless impregnating agent ensures uniform absorbency of the material before applying additional coats. Subsequently, the surface of the wood should be lightly sanded with sandpaper and only then apply the impregnating stain. In the case of renovating old coatings, first remove the original non-adherent layers, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the staining lacquer. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform enhancement of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the non-absorbed lacquer 10 to 15 minutes after application using a dry brush or cloth.

When painting uniform surfaces, always choose material from the same production batch to ensure uniform color tone. The resulting shade is influenced by the type of wood, the condition of the surface, and previous coatings; therefore, we recommend performing a test coating before the complete application. Complaints about color shades can only be made based on the test area.
To achieve a high gloss finish, you can coat the dry layer applied with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floor areas can be coated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.

A covering material, such as protective foil or paper adhesive tape, may be useful. Don’t forget to also get brushes and rollers.
