Synthetic oil-based impregnating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining coatings on soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions, as well as for interior applications. It protects wood from UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, enhancing its natural grain and providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of old coatings. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded prior to application, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, free from any resin residues. Wood with increased resin content (larch, pine) must be completely freed from all resin exudates, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood's pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and the overall durability of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for exterior use must first be treated with an appropriate fungicidal impregnator that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, for example, with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of wood intended for interior use should ideally be treated first with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetrating with colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and then the impregnating stain should be applied. For renovation coatings, the wood must be freed from old non-adhering layers, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (particularly for cleaning tools)
Theoretical Coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on substrate absorbency
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on a pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at the application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the staining varnish. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform enhancement of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the non-absorbed varnish with a dry brush or cloth 10 to 15 minutes after application.
For cohesive areas, always use material from the same production batch. When using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, so it is recommended to perform a test application before the final application. Claims regarding color shades will be accepted only with the claim of the test area.
For a high gloss finish, a dried coat made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be coated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural shade of the stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be re-coated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with varnish must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.
You may need covering materials such as paper masking tape or covering foil. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
