CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of both soft and hardwood exposed to weather influences, as well as for interior applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain and thereby providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, wood floor priming.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a humidity of max. 12%, and free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be freed from all resin exudates, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the pre-treatment of the wood depends on the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall durability of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator, which ensures protection of the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, such as LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is advisable to first be impregnated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Priming with a colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorption of the substrate before further application of coating materials. Subsequently, the wood surface must be lightly sanded and only then should the impregnating stain be applied. In renovation coatings, the wood must be freed from the old, non-adhering layer by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on substrate absorption

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted as it already has optimal application viscosity. During work, do not forget to continuously mix the staining lacquer. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats, for outdoor use, we recommend three coats, exclusively in colored shades. The colorless variant is intended for indoor spaces only. Apply each coat with a 24-hour interval. For uniform enhancement of the wood structure, it is recommended to wipe off the unabsorbed lacquer with a dry brush or cloth after 10 to 15 minutes of application.

For large areas, always apply the product from the same production batch, which ensures a consistent color tone. The resulting shade depends on the type of wood, surface treatment, and previous coatings, therefore, it is recommended to make a test coat before the final application. Claims regarding the shade will only be recognized based on the test area.
To achieve high gloss, the dried coat can be over-coated with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade LAZUROL GOLD S1037. For floor over-coating, LAZUROL OUTDOOR FOOTPRINT VARNISH S1020 is recommended.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with the stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you can use covering aids like paper masking tape or cover film. Don't forget suitable brushes and rollers.
